Volunteer Mediator Application Introduction

IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO LEARN ABOUT OR REGISTER FOR MMS' BASIC MEDIATION TRAINING, YOU ARE AT THE WRONG PAGE.  PLEASE GO TO:  Mediation Training Details and Registration.  If you have already completed a basic mediation training and wish to either a) participate in MMS program of Mentored/Supervised Mediation Placement; or b) volunteer your services to MMS, please read on.

Let us at MMS begin by expressing our thanks for your interest in offering your time and skill to our communities as a mediator with Metropolitan Mediation Services (M.M.S.) .

M.M.S. has a number of practice areas and settings for which qualified mediators can volunteer. Some of these areas and settings provide regular, predictable opportunities where one can count on being able to provide service on a regular basis. Others areas and settings provide opportunities on a less frequent and less predictable basis. You must decide which areas of practice you are most interested in and what kind of frequency and predictability best fit your schedule and preferences.

Volunteering, in addition to providing services of great value to our communities, is also a tremendous way to keep up and further develop your skills. We at M.M.S. are devoted to responsibly assessing mediators’ levels of skill and placing volunteers where they are best qualified to serve.

If you completed prior training or mentoring outside of MMS, before you go on to the application form, I suggest that you click this link to the training and mentoring certification forms that may need to be completed before we can approve your application.  We have kept these forms as simple as possible in order to minimize any burden to you or to the certifying program.  No narrative data is required.  Once you have downloaded those forms, please continue to with your application by clicking the following link:
